A study in Color + Form BETHANY MABEE ART
+Textiles
Drawn from Nature.Bethany’s work begins with a closer look at the patterns that repeat in nature and the geometry hidden within them. Through painting, works on paper, collage and textiles, she explores how color and form can shift, repeat and evolve.
Nothing exists entirely on its own. One exploration leads to another, carrying pieces of what came before into something new.
Palette to Painting.
Initiated by color. Layered with movement and structure.
Painting to Pattern.
Small painting sections isolated and transformed into repeating patterns.
Meet Bethany.
Growing up in the Midwest, where the seasons shift dramatically, I developed a deep appreciation for nature’s cycles. Each season reveals its own palette, rhythms, and structures. I’m drawn to observing these same cyclical shifts within myself and others. These patterns inform my creative process, both consciously and unconsciously, becoming a constant source of inspiration and connection.
After more than 20 years working alongside interior designers in furniture procurement, my love of art and interiors has become deeply intertwined. I’m interested in what happens when art and interiors meet; when our inner world intersects with our outer world and color, form, and pattern take on new meaning within the spaces they inhabit.
An Ever-Evolving Practice.
Through a continual evolution of materials, Bethany investigates the patterns that connect the natural world and human experience.
